Terms of use

Short version: Uncork runs games you already own, on your own Mac. The core is free — games, Steam and Epic, bottles and repairs work with no account and no payment. Only Uncork Pro is paid, €19 once. You buy the games, we never ask for your Steam password, we do not defeat anti-cheat, and buying Pro gets you access to the program’s features with no end date for versions before 2.0 — not ownership of anything.

What this is

Uncork is an app for macOS on Apple Silicon. It puts the Windows build of a store — Steam or the Epic Games Launcher — in its own environment, brings up a compatibility layer, and launches games in it. It is a private project, not a company.

You buy the games

Uncork does not sell, hand out or crack games. You need your own Steam or Epic account and games bought in it. The store’s rules remain the store’s rules — we neither override nor work around them.

What we will not do

We do not bypass, fake or disable game protection or anti-cheat. Games with kernel-level anti-cheat will not start, and that is not a shortcoming we will one day "fix".

As is

The service is provided as is. We do not promise that a particular game will start, will run at any given frame rate, or that a macOS update will not break something. If something falls over, write to us. If you bought Pro and something stopped working because of an Uncork bug, see “Refunds”.

The free core and Uncork Pro

Free, with no account and no payment: launching games, installation, bottles, Steam and Epic, the library, Find out why and repairs, Windows components (.NET, DirectX, fonts; since version 1.0.2), Steam optimisations, compatible audio, Game Mode, gamepad mode, the mouse check and launch history. None of it needs an account or a driver key. Assetto Corsa runs through Steam for free: Uncork installs the Windows components it needs (.NET, DirectX, fonts) for free.

Uncork Pro costs €19 once. It includes: the mouse read from the device (Uncork reads it itself, up to 1000 Hz), Even frames and “on battery — even 60”, the in-game panel, for Assetto Corsa one-click Content Manager, a race screen to pick the car, weather and time, and fixes for modded graphics, and Logitech G923 wheel force feedback (since version 1.0.1; in 1.0 it was part of the free core). Pro also means new versions before the free core and a direct line to the developer. Pro runs on a driver key the app fetches from the site and renews on its own; offline, the key lasts a week. You only need an account to buy Pro and for invitation rewards.

The Pro module. The free build of Uncork contains no Pro code: it arrives as a separate module the app downloads from our server only while you have Pro — bought, on the trial or Pro time — once for each version of Uncork. The download sends our server the access token, the Mac fingerprint and the app version. The module is marked with this Mac and, if you signed in, your account, and works only on this Mac. What is kept about it is in the privacy policy.

No end date. You buy Pro once and it covers every Uncork update before version 2.0 — that is all 1.x versions; 2.0 itself is not included. It does not cover version 2.0 and later: there only Pro time (below) counts, while on versions before 2.0 your Pro stays. “No end date” means Pro does not run out on its own, not that Uncork will work on any system: it runs on top of Rosetta, and Apple says that from macOS 28 on it will keep Rosetta only for certain older games. Pro does not promise that Uncork works on macOS 28 or later. If Uncork stops working because of changes in macOS, there is no compensation for it: as “Refunds” says, macOS updates do not count as an Uncork bug; the refund in the first 14 days after a payment stays. If Uncork shuts down, the “If Uncork shuts down” section applies.

Trial. You can try Pro: the first seven days come with nothing to pay and no account needed, counted from the moment you start the trial in Uncork on this Mac. One trial per Mac. If you sign in to an account on this Mac during the trial, the days you have left move to the account. Signing in does not start a trial by itself: once signed in, you start it the same way, in Uncork and when you ask for it — provided neither this Mac nor the account has had one before. When the trial ends, only Pro features switch off; the core works as before. After your first game without Pro, Uncork offers the trial once: it starts, and the Mac fingerprint goes to our server, only if you press “Try Pro”; “Not now” sends nothing. What is kept about the trial, and for how long, is in the privacy policy.

Pro time. Besides buying it, you can have Pro for a time: the trial, invitation rewards, the school week, days we credit ourselves, and paid time left over from earlier months and years — until 5 October 2026 Uncork was sold by the month and by the year; those options are no longer sold. Paid time is added to whatever you already have. Pro time keeps running on its own and is not put aside for later, including after you buy Pro.

Payment is by Telegram Stars or crypto via OxaPay (USDT, TON, BTC and more); cards are not accepted yet. It is a single payment: there is no auto-renewal, and nothing is charged without you.

The price of Pro may change. We will announce any increase on the site and in the app at least two weeks ahead; it does not affect Pro you have already bought and never asks you to pay extra.

Discounts. Anyone invited by a friend gets 15 % off Uncork Pro once they link Uncork to their own Mac (details under “Invitations”). The discount is shown in your profile before you pay and goes into the invoice when you open it. Partner and school discounts do not apply to Pro.

Updates

Notable versions — 1.1, 1.2 and on — Uncork offers, and you install them yourself. People with Pro (bought, on the trial or Pro time) get them first, everyone else next; that is part of Pro. Fixes for the same version — 1.0.1, 1.0.2 and on — Uncork downloads and installs by itself when you quit the app, but never during a game or while Steam is running. You can turn this off in settings: “Install fixes automatically”. Every version and its notes are on the changelog.

Refunds

For the first 14 days after a payment, you get your money back, no reasons asked. Write to hello@uncork.win and it goes back the way it came. Buyers in the European Union have that right by law; we give it to everyone, because sorting people by passport over this would be silly. After such a refund Pro is removed.

If you have Pro and something stopped working because of an Uncork bug, we refund everything you paid for Pro (€19, less with a discount), and Pro stays yours. An Uncork bug means a game that was already working for you no longer starts, a Pro feature that was already working for you stopped working, or a game from the tested list will not start on a supported Mac (Apple Silicon, macOS 14 or later) — in each case because of our app, its driver, our server or one of our updates. Write to hello@uncork.win within 30 days of the failure, saying when it happened; the money goes back the way it came. We refund a Pro purchase this way once. If your last payment before the failure was a month or a year (sold until 5 October 2026), we refund it in full and your Pro time stays. Not covered: games with kernel-level anti-cheat, updates to the games or stores themselves, Steam or internet outages, and macOS updates.

In all other cases there is no refund after 14 days. If it did not work and we could not fix it, write anyway and we will sort it out. We will not answer with silence.

If Uncork shuts down

We will give at least 30 days' notice, on the site and in the app itself. Before shutting down we will release a final version that does not need our server: on Macs where Uncork is already installed, it launches games and Pro features with no sign-in and no key check. It will arrive as a normal in-app update — install it before the shutdown. From the notice on, we take no new payments. Your bottles, Steam and games stay on your Mac. Switching the server off after that notice does not count as an Uncork bug. Refunds follow the “Refunds” section.

Pro on one computer

Pro is bound to your Mac: a trial when you start it in Uncork on that Mac, an account at your first sign-in to Uncork on it. The core needs no binding. Changing Macs, or reinstalling the system? Press “Change Mac” in your profile or write to hello@uncork.win: the binding is released at once if you haven’t changed Macs yourself in the last 30 days; more often — by hand, on request. Then sign in to Uncork on the new Mac. The limit is there so that the binding means something.

Invitations

Both sides of an invitation are rewarded, and both for the same thing: the person you invited first links Uncork to their own Mac, one that has never been linked to another account. They get 15 % off Uncork Pro after linking, even if they had already paid for something before it: the discount goes into an invoice opened after linking and is used up once such an invoice is paid. You get one day of Pro time for each person you invite, up to 5 a month, and when they buy Pro, another 15 % of a year — 54.75 days of Pro time. Beyond five a month the person you invited still gets the discount.

Rewards for the inviter are credited as time, not money: they cannot be cashed out. One reward per mailbox: addresses with a “+tag” and, for Gmail, with dots lead to the same mailbox and count as one invited person. Gaming it — ten mailboxes on one Mac — voids the credit.

Not allowed

• Bypassing, faking or disabling game protection and anti-cheat.
• Reselling Pro or handing your code around.
• Giving the Pro module to other people or moving it to other computers.
• Attacking the service: guessing codes, flooding it, poking at other people's accounts.

If you break this

Pro is withdrawn. The Pro purchase and Pro time are not refunded in that case.

Names

Steam, Counter-Strike, macOS and other names belong to their owners. Uncork is not affiliated with Valve or Apple. The licences of the components inside the build are listed in the app itself.

Law

Disputes are settled by writing to each other. Failing that, Swiss law applies. But if you are buying as a person rather than as a company, the consumer rights of the country you live in stay with you regardless: a choice of law does not override them and cannot.
